Mylar Hongji Films Foshan Co., Ltd (formerly known as DuPont Hongji Films Foshan Co., Ltd) was established in Dec 1995. It’s a joint venture in China between Mylar Specialty Films China Ltd (registered in Hong Kong) and FSPG High-TECH Co., Ltd.
Mylar Specialty Films (formerly known as DuPont Teijin Films), a leader in the production of differentiated polyester films is a 50:50 global JV between Celanese and Teijin with established production and marketing platforms in the US, EU and Asia.
Mylar® is the brand name of the world’s first biaxially orientated polyester films (“PET”) commercially produced by DuPont in the 1950’s. The choice of the new company name reflects the heritage of the Mylar® brand as well as signals our continued commitment to innovation and leadership in the market to generate a positive environmental, social, and economic impact – to make all our lives better.
Since inception in addition to inheriting the Mylar® PET，Melinex® PET，Kaladex® PEN technology from our parent company we have also developed our Hongji® PET technology based on our own R&D efforts in line with the Chinese local market needs. As a manufacturing operation in China, we mainly produce and supply the China market needs with our Hongji® PET technology. We also produce and supply our overseas customers of Mylar Specialty Films.
As the first PET manufacturer invested by PET global top players in China, since inception, building upon the world’s leading PET technology and global marketing resources, we developed new PET application markets in China one after another by working closely with our customers. Today we are the leader in production of differentiated PET in China with the broadest variety of products, the most complete thickness range, and the best quality recognition in the market. Our products covers a relatively complete thickness range from 2.8 to 350 micron in scale production, being widely used in a world of applications including packaging; labels, image & digital print; print & flexible electronics; electrical insulation and new energy. We also created the best known brand-name products in the industry such as Hongji®121 which enables enhanced adhesion to metal for retort application.
